Yep just bought it tonight.
I use the TMOBILE to go prepaid phone service. I only really use it for emergency calls so I don't need anything truly fancy. However my old phone was starting to show its age. It was a two to three year old nokia. It was pretty basic. And the screen had a slight crack so lots of dust and junk got in it. Still worked ok but the voice quality was so-so.
Well after debating over it for a couple of months I finally bought a new phone:
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=mobilephones&type=mobilephones...TMB&fullspec=F
It works very well so far. All of my info transferred over on the sim card so i didn't have to retype anything and my password stayed the same too![]()
Oh and its a camera phone too! It's only vga 640x480 (I think that's the res). But It's nice to have. I think its like .25 to email each picture for printing. Not too bad. I think also you can take like up to ten or fifteen I think the sales person said. I don't plan on taking a ton of pictures but now I'll have the spur of the moment ability to do so. I almost always have my cell phone on my just in case. I never lug around the four year old sony 2.1mp digicam that I have unless I'm planning on taking pictures.
Oh and this thing is at least half as heavy as the other cell phone. Very nice.
One more thing - it's BLUETOOTH enabled. Should I ever dive into that area I can do it now. Plus it has a speakerphone option and you can record 1min voice clips.
All in all it was a pretty good deal. It was just over a 100.00. I paid sticker price after the instant rebate. I didn't get it for free or anything like that because I wanted to stay on my prepaid to go plan.
Like I said I think this phone will work out well. Plus it has the tzones website feature. The free sites include cnn, abc news and espn. I read espn while I eat lunch at work so that is great it is still there![]()

that's a snapshot of a test from my camera phone. Apparently its half vga at 300xsomething. Still not too bad. No flash that I can tell though so it's limited to a daytime phone or indoor lighting. But it still looks pretty good. It has 4x digital zoom. Though I know digital zoom introduces a lot of pixelation so that probably is not a good thing at all.Donatello - The Shredder? Uh-oh! yoda's first stalker (someone who signed up just to bitch at him).
What force power did you use to lure this guy, yaddo?
The thing about the pictures is that you can pick up a cheap ($5-$8) USB bluetooth dongle for your pc and download the pics that way. I used to buy cables every time we switched phones, but since I now make sure they're all bluetooth, cables no mas. -

YES, THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!!
But still, why would one make a post to brag about a POS Pre Pay Cell Phone!!! He is like a little child with a new toy and can't get Star Wars out of his head.
Maybe he should concentrate on less Star Wars and re-building credit so he can get a REAL phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who cares about the damn picture quality and if or what camera he will be walking around with???? -
Some of us have prepaid for reasons that have nothing to do with our credit rating. Some of us regard the other people that frequent OT as friends and like to occasionally share happenings in our lives. Some of us have the decency to just not bother posting if we think the thread is boring or stupid. And I for one don't appreciate someone who registers simply for the purpose of slamming a longtime member and Poll mod for something that is neither inflammitory nor detrimental to anyone.

The person that flamed yoda is is a very sad person. this person didnt just sign up to flame him. this person is a regular or simi regular of OT and made a new nic to post that crap and not be recognized. if it were a newby he wouldnt have even been able to see yodas post because you need to have a reg nic to even read OT. i had a person do the same to me here i took it pm but dropped it quick. who ever this person is or people are need to get a life and stay out of OT or forums in general. if you dont like something then for god sake dont post and ignore all other postings from the person you hate so much.

Thanks for posting Yoda.
I have been considering getting a prepaid b/c I essentially only have a phone for emergency purposes as well. I have only looked around a little, but it is interesting to see how prepaids have advanced tech wise (as in features you find standard on phones you get with a plan). I used to think of prepaids as 'disposable'.
Not sure if you are aware, but one cool feature Samsung phones have is on the '#' key it has a shortcut to turn the phone to vibrate ( or silent can't rem which it does). But the feature comes in handy for meetings and at the movies to quickly turn the ringer off.
Congrats on your phone!
