After reading many different discussions and forums, I have come to the conslusion that the Toshiba-SD1600 can play VCDs (contrary to popular belief) -- but only only on a few precise types of CD-RW. After trying on many different brands of CD-RW: Memorex, Office-Depot, Sony - all I can get is "Disc Error" on my DVD player. If ANYONE can tell me the brand and product # of the medium they have used in a Toshiba-SD 1600 that WORKS, I would be very, very happy!
