I know that ATI packages their AIW cards with a more up to date WDM driver while VirtualDub uses the older VFW driver model to support capturing. I also know that there is a way around this conflic which should allow you to capture using VirtualDub and AIW, specifically the fix mentioned at this link under the date 8/3/2001:

My question is this. This news article is now closing in on a year old. ATI has since released the AIW Radeon 8500DV as well as MMC 7.5. Does this workaround still work, and is it still needed? Is there anyone out there using the new 8500DV and VirtualDub? Also this workaround was for Win2K, does anyone know if it would work in XP? I'm seriously thinking of buying the 8500DV card, but I would like to continue to use VirtualDub if I can, I don't particularly like MMC.
Thanks
