I did a search of this site and the web but I haven't been able to solve this problem.
When I use the S-Video or Composite outputs on the Radeon 8500DV, my computers monitor image shrinks. I have tried other monitors, refresh rates, resolutions and I have tried the 8500DV card in another computer with the same results. Whatever source I am running the outputs to are uneffected and will record fine. Everything seems to point to some setting I am missing on the Video card. Thanks for any info

You need to set dual monitors using an extended desktop or Theater mode to set different resolutions for the main monitor and the S-Video out.

Thanks for the response edDV. I think you got me in the right direction and the problem has been solved. I needed to use the "basic" option when in the catalyst window. In basic I was able to set up the output as a monitor and select "clone" and my computer monitor returned to the correct size.

Clone may limit the resolution of your main monitor or cause the S-video to only show a protion of the desktop. This is chipset dependent. "Extend desktop" or "Theater" mode allow separate resolutions for each output.
