Firewire to DVD

Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is anyway to convert directly to DVD while capturing via Firewire??? Thanks!

Not directly, but an encoder like Mainconcept can convert to MPEG-2 on the fly from a FireWire input, then all you need to do is author it to DVD and burn. But you need a fast computer to do this. And the quality will generally be lower than using a encoder to convert from your transfered files on a hard drive.

A lot easier would be a DVD recorder with FireWire inputs and burn directly to disc.
