It is interesting reading, but dated 2001, with the last update 2005. While I don't know, I would hope a lot of those loopholes have been plugged since then. I use a simple software firewall that monitors outgoing packets and blocks and informs me of the 'odd' ones.
One of the problems I see with Vista at present is that it apparently doesn't block any outgoing packets as I understand. If this is correct, this seems a huge security flaw.But at least one company, ZoneAlarm seems to have a usable firewall for the OS. Others should follow or MS may correct that seeming mistake.
I see the ISPs flagged with a lot of the blame in that article. And I would agree when they don't respond or attempt to control their customers illegal activities when they have been informed. That hopefully has also changed since that article.
