I did a Windows Update this morning, and now when I stick a movie DVD in the drive it always brings up a menu of the files/folders. It used to start Intervideo, VAIO's DVD playing program. I started that and looked at the settings and the autoplay check box is greysd out and also Intervideo is not in the options box of the drive properties. What should I do!?

You could start by verifying AutoPlay in the drive settings. Open the drive properties for you dvd drive, go to the AutoPlay tab, and check what is chosen.

Your best bet would most likely be to choose "Restore Defaults" and then reboot. Next time you insert a DVD, you should then get a prompt and you can choose which app to use.

I was in there and messed with it. I will try the restore to defaults as you said during lunch. Strange thing was that the usual programs were there for autoplay like windows media player, and real player. But Intervideo was not there. I wonder if the updates messed with something. Double clicking on the IFO file in the VIDEO_TS directory started Intervideo so it is still there and set for this file type.

    Thanks
