is it possible to burn a minidvd on a dvd disc ?

this would take all the headache out of converting the movie

if you burn on dvd it will not be a minidvd/cdvd then it will be a DVD.

well heres what i mean

when i try to load svcd on dvdit it tells me i have to use cdvd wich is minidvd what i am saying is can i choose that and build the movie and record to a dvd disc instead of having a punch of cdrs?
