(assume these questions are for capturing to VCD)

    1. What program you use for capturing? AVI_IO
    2. What codec you use for capturing /& settings? Pic Video codec/ quality @18, sometimes 20.
    3. What resolution do you use for capturing? 352x288 @ 25fps
    4. What filters if any do you use? if using VDub I use 'Blur More'.

  3. Hi,

I capture with VDub at 720x480 (YUY2) for SVCD or 704x576 (YUY2) for VCD using Huffy at whatever default settings are. Since Im in the UK I always capture at 25fps.

I dont use any filters while capturing though when its done I either run it though a temporal smoother (5) and then sometimes dynamic noise reduction (orig, 6) depending on how it looks.

Im also playing about with AviSynth using GreedyHMA and MPEG2Dec, havent done much with it yet but think its what I'll use in the future, like what I've seen so far.

    Cheers

  4. Hi,
For my editing projects that I usually convert to VCD or SVCD I capture identical to dvbr :

VDub at 720x480 29.97 fps with Huffyuv compression, default settings, no filtering, audio 44.1 Khz.

If I am just capture straight to VCD from DVD or TV, I use MMC with the help of Stinky's Reg Tool.

I capture right to mpeg-1 with my radeon 7200 VIVO at 352x240 by 2.0 kbit/sec. I then edit with vcdcutter4.04 and then multiplex with tmpgenc. i hate the whole process of converting.
