  1. I have a Durabrand DVD-1002 that I picked up at Walmart for about $30. I wasn't expecting too much but it seems like the audio gets out of sync with the video sometimes. I haven't done extensive testing but it seems to happen about midway through a movie. I have only noticed it on two movies so far.

What do you think causes this ? Is there some sort of buffer that gets filled ?

It's too bad because the player has a nice small footprint.

Playing commercial discs or burned discs ?
    DVDs or avi files ?
All audio, or just specific formats ?
Digital or analogue audio connections ?
Through an amp, or direct to the TV ?

    Commercial DVD discs
Component video out and analog audio direct to TV

I haven't tried to switch audio formats on the player. I'll have to see if I can do it.
