I've read through numerous posts/threads but have not seen anything pertaing to my problem...

So here is my dilema. I have both a MacBoockPro and Desktop PC running windows XP SP2.

I have been using Mediafork/Handbrake on my MBP to convert DVD's to MPEG4. I have been doing so with great sucess. I have then transfreed my files to my PC. They transfer fine. Here is where the problem begins, When I import the mpeg4 file into Itunes, it works fine. However when I try to play the file, all I get is audio. I DO get Visual playback, however it plays back a mix of Hot PINK and Hot Green images. Nothing more nothing less. I have no clue what the problem is.

The file works fine using Windows Media Player, but I really like the cover flow option on Itunes.
Is their a quick fix, plugin etc.. that I am missing?? I attached an image of what the file looks like when being played in Itunes.

Any help will be greatly apreciated!

Hm, here's an experiment I'd like you to try: convert a file in Windows using Quicktime to MP4, and try it in iTunes. Seriously, it could be a codec problem on either pc.
    MKV: Merely Krappy Video.

Subbers, a request from an avid viewer: Either don't use mkv, or supply avi or mp4 as an alternative.

For those frustrated with converting MKV: http://www.immortalmusic.net/mkv/

I tried using quick time to convert the file which is either a video clip or Movie File (mpeg).
When I open the file inside quicktime, I get the same results as in Itunes, Pink screen. I am unable to covert it, since the orignal file won't open properly.

I was also thinking a possible codec, but I do have Divix installed.. what other codec could it be? Both the original file and MP4 files play fine inside of Windows Media but not Itunes or quicktime...

Have you tried GSpot to see what codec you need?
