WMP11 Crashes

Howdy y'all.

I've been trying to find the solution to my WMP11 crashes, but I’m coming up empty.
80% of my .wmv videos cause WMP11 to crash. The videos are not protected. I AM able to watch them on Nero Showtime and with VLC without any problems.
I have reinstalled wmp6cdcs.exe and WM9Codecs.exe
I would think that if there was a problem with the codec, Nero Showtime wouldn’t be able to play the videos either…
Does anyone have any ideas? Do anyone know where I can get a different copy of the wmv codec (one that’s not in a pack with a bunch of other codecs).

I'm not sure why people upgrade when their WMP works fine...but whatever. Try installing the previous version that worked.

How is that a good answer?
So if I have a minor problem with Windows XP, instead of finding a solution to the problem, I should just go back to Windows ME?

Just take a look at the many posts here concerning WMP problems. I took it off my systems.
