What is the video codec in the mp4? You can identify the codec using mediainfo.

I would try ffdshow, it support most video codecs.

    Hi Baldrick

this is the information I see for the MP4 with mediainfo:

Do you know which codec I will need for WMP11?

mpeg-4 visual doesn't say much, it could be divx,xvid,h264,h263. I would still try ffdshow as it supports most stuff.

ffdshow is a suite of unified codecs for playback. It is safer than codec packs because it doesn't spray different codecs all over your system, and allows configuration and management from a single application.
