I'm trying to do on the fly dubbing using DVD+R discs as source and DVD-R discs as target and as soon as I go through the process the target driver ejects the DVD-R disc and ask me for the correct media.

"Sorry your compilation can not be written on this kind of disc, please insert the correct disc or modified the settings on your compilation to make it compatible with the current disc".

Disc required for the compilation DVD+R.
Disc type in the recorder DVD-R.

I have a LiteOn SOHW 812-S and a Sony DRU 820A which I have been using for a while to dub "On the fly" DVD+R's to DVD+R's . Neither writer is set as a definitive source or target so I switch in between the two without any problems. Also, both writers burn DVD-R media without any problem out of my hard drive files and folders. The problem starts when I try to do the "on the fly" dubbing from one driver to the other.
I have checked all the setting in NERO and the DVD burners and as far as I can tell everything seems fine.
Also, I have tried to create an image for burning and I get the same error .

About the only thing left for me to do is "modified the setting in my compilation" as directed by the prompt window...but how do I do that?...I have already checked my Burners and NERO settings and all the settings are go.
    Anybody has any ideas??

    Media used... RIDATA, Verbatim, Memorex,
    Nero/nero express 7.0.1.2

    TIA

If you're doing on the fly burning you need to make sure the read speed of the (source) is double the speed of the burn speed. For example if your read speed is 16x then the burn speed would be 8x spd.

IMHO why burn on the fly when you can use RIPIT4ME or DVD DECRYPTER to rip the files to your hard drive in ISO mode. Then use IMGBURN to burn your DVD-R/+ media.

Although both of your drives may support both disc types, Nero is attempting to duplicate the original. If the original is -R then the copy will (has to) be -R (or in your case +R). Nero doesn't have an option to switch disc formats in "copy" mode.

    Reporting Back.
Ok, I did followed Budz suggestion and went ahead and made an ISO image of my disc with Decrypter and burned it onto a DVD-R without any problem.
Why do "On the fly" dubs? I don't know..I have always used that method for my DVD's and CD's..going back 10 years now and I think back then there weren't many options to duplicating discs so I kind of got stuck with it, besides after all these years I have always use DVD-R's and just recently started to do DVD+R's that's why I was having the troubles. Trying the Decrypter/ISO image and IMGBURN seems more hustle and more time consuming to me but I'll keep it as a second option.
As for Krispy Kritter comments, you were right on too. Nero does not support on The fly DVD+R/-R's that's why my system kept rejecting my disc. So as soon as I finished my ISO image DVD-R I went ahead and pop it into my source drive and proceeded to make a copy of another DVD-R without any problem.

Well, problem solved...Thank you both very much.

Verbatim is a good choice, ridta and Memorex media not.

Recently I learned media compatibility seems to depend a great deal on the burner. I've had good luck with Verbatim -R and +R on NEC and Pioneer burners, but a LiteOn SHM-165P6S I just got creates 3 out of 4 coasters with Verbatim -R and +R but burns very well with TDK -R and Ridata +R. With the Verbatims the LiteOn gets nearly finished with burn and gives "Failed to burn end disk at once" message resulting in coasters.

Make sure you have the latest firmware, especially if you are trying to use new media. The firmware controls media compatibility. While some drives have preferences for certain brands/types of media, having the latest firmware ensures greater compatibility.
