Well I have searched far and wide for some help on this matter...I looked on the help section and read about the overscan and stuff but I am seeking a little more help please.
Also I have FitCD and I tried using this tutorial...
https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1487285#1487285
But I got confused because I don't use TMPGEnc Anymore because nothing came out right plus I am very new to DVD Authoring...I use WinAVIConverter & ConvertXtoDVD...I am willing to use FitCD but the tutorial seemed like it was more leaning toward TMPGEnc users.Plus I am using AVI's..
I have a TON of Anime Episodes on RMVB format that I have been converting with WinAVI and trying to put onto DVD-R's so I can view them on my 13 in tv using my ps2...
I use Taiyo Yuden DVD-R Silver Thermal 8x Discs that are awsome...
Whenever I put these episodes onto dvd's they look fine when I preview them on my screen and when I preview them inside ConvertxtoDVD...
But when I pop the DVD into my drive the DVD Menu comes up and it looks fine but as soon as I start to play the episodes I notice that I looks like someone zoomed in just a tad so the subs get hard to read at times...
I tried converting the RMVB's into AVI's with Video Size 720x480 but still no luck the same thing happens...
What can I do? Someone told me to get a DVDSubEdit program and do it that way but I want something a little easier...I did check this out in ConvertXtoDVD
I went to Settings>Subtitles>Text Subtitles Rendering settings...And at the VERY Top I notice it says this...Current Style {DEFAULT}, Resolution 720x572...
I don't know if that helps but I have been trying to figure out if that is what ConvertxtoDVD has been converting my avi's video size to which is why I have an issue...
Please can someone guide me through this...I have been looking ALL over for answers reading multiple posts but I am seeking a little guidance...
Also if you could help me through AIM that would be awsome as well..
my aim .... dragon63942
Please...Thanks For ANY HElp

DVDsubedit and Text Subtitles settings are only for switchable subtitles and I guess your anime has permanent subs in the picture?
-
Use FitCD and add 2 block for overscan borders. Save the AVS script, and load this into ConvertXtoDVD instead of the avi file. ConvertXtoDVD will encode it with the borders that avisynth has added, pushing the subs back into the visible area.

Can someone please help me with my issue? I Changed it to 2 block and Saved the script. So I have a 13 in tv this should work?? Why Not 1 Block??
But What about having Multiple AVI's like I want to put 8 or 9 eps on a DVD-r with ConvertxtoDVD.
Would I load the saved scripts like adding avi's?? Thanks so far...I am looking foreward to getting this to work...
Thanks Also what does it mean when it says HIGHLIGHTED in Yellow in the Log of ConvertXtoDVD 4 Duplicated Frames???
Sometimes I get videos that will play fine for awhile and then it will start freezing and play freezing and play freezing and play for like 3 times in a row then play smooth again...
I had these issues on the last few DVDs I made with ConvertXtoDVD...
Any idea?? And how to fix it? -
The problem with overscan is that it varies from TV to TV. A 13 inch TV may have a larger overscan area than a larger TV if it comes from a cheaper manufacturer. The only way to know what suits your TV is to do a test encode and find out. That said, experience shows 2 blocks is usually pretty good.
You will need a script for every episode.
Duplicate frames are created when the original avi doesn't have a consitent framerate, or when the avi framerate isn't exactly 23.976 (or 29.97 or 25 depending on format etc). The extra frames are required to get you to DVD compliance. If it is only a few then it is not a concern. Compare this to something like WinAVI or NeroVision, which will create 6 dummy frames every second to encode at 29.970, instead of encoding at 23.976 with pulldown. ConvertxtoDVD is a much better option.
Does the freezing occur when you play back from the HDD, or only from the burned DVD ? If it is only on the burned DVD I would suggest two things. One, make sure you have good quality media. TY, verbatim, even some TDK is good. A lot of media is junk. Second, don't burn with ConvertXtoDVD. Have it write the DVD structure to your HDD, then use Imgburn to burn the disc.Read my blog here.
-
Well it is Only from the Burned DVD-R...I use Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R's at 4x Burning Speed...
I just got this at 88% Done...Runtime ERROR...OUT of Memory...
I have 1 GB Ram Memory I never had issues before...
What now?? -
What version of ConvertXtoDVD ? It is updated frequently.
What were you source files ?
Did you test your AVS scripts in virtualdub first to make sure they work ?
Finally : yes, ConvertXtoDVD is pretty good. It handles a wide range of formats, and handles them pretty well most of the time. That said, it is still a one-click-wonder, and will never handle video as well as dedicated software. Avisynth is not a toy, and while ConvertXtoDVD will load and process avisynth scripts, I suspect that it's support is pretty rudimentary. Generally, if I am at the stage of having to use avisynth, then I start using more grown up software with it. You may simply have reached this point.Read my blog here.

No u never mentioned Virtual Dub..
What should I do now??
I restarted my computer and I tried it again in ConvertXtoDVD and it Completed the process at 4416 MB..
So should I burn it with ImgBurn or should I do something before I do that?? Please Do Tell I appreciate all this help. Thanks...And Also could you tell me how to burn the Video_TS File with IMG Burn? Thanks Again -
If there are any doubts, use PowerDVD or WinDVD (if you have it) or MPC to open the DVD on the HDD to test the menus etc.
Otherwise burn with Imgburn.
After burning I usually do a read test with DVDInfoPro just to be sure I can see everything on the disc, then test it in a player.Read my blog here.
-
Could you please tell me how to burn the VIDEO_TS File to a DVD-R??
Also could you teach me how to Read the DVD with DVDInfoPro??
Please Thanks For All this help so far -
Open imgburn, make sure the Mode is set to Build, then browse for a folder. Select you Video_TS folder. Click Burn and you are off.
DVD Info Pro is pretty simple. Click on Read Test, click start, and watch the green boxes appear. If any are not green, you have a potential problem.Read my blog here.

Please Can someone help me with DVD Info Pro...
I got the Newest Full Version of DVD Info Pro...How can I read the VIDEO_TS File for the Green Boxes??
Please give me step by step. Also when I choose Build>Choose the Folder>and then I clicked this little disc Icon to turn it to write and clicked Write to My Plextor 712-A...
Is that right? -
Put the disc in your burner. Start up DVD Info Pro. Click on the icon that looks like a magnifying glass look at a disc. Click the Start button.
Read my blog here.

Which One is it?? I can't find the Magnifine Glass...
Well I decided to pop it in my PS2 to check it out on my 13 in Screen...
I think we have a winner...
Thanks a Lot...A few more questions...
If I had RMBV Videos to start...
What steps should I take using WinAVI?? Usually I got Batch Convert...and just click For Source Files: Output into seperate Files...
Choose my output directory and hit OK...and then I Click Convert...
Should I mess with Advanced options or will this do the trick??
::My THoughts on Steps...Please Correct me if ANY Steps are wrong::
WinAVI to Convert RMVB's to AVI's
Open FitCD..Change Overscreen to 2 Blocks...
Use ConvertXtoDVD to put it to my HDD and then
Use ImgBurn to Burn the VIDEO_TS FIle... -
ConvertXtoDVD will also handle RMBV, as will avisynth if you istall Real Alternative and open the file with DirectShowSource instead of AVISource. Personally, I hate RMBV (I have never seen one with any quality) and I hate WinAVI even more. If you have to process it through WinAVI, then ConvertXtoDVD, it ain't worth the time or the quality loss.
However if you want to go down that path then your steps are essentially correct.
But to paraphrase Mr T - I pity the fool who has WinAVI installed on their PCRead my blog here.

Well I ran into this with my first BURN...
I burned my VIDEO_TS at 1x in IMGBurn and I notice it plays really well but then Sometimes it pixelates for a second and pauses then starts to play fine...It happend a few times but not bad so far...
I also noticed when I used FitCD and then ConvertXtoDVD my VIDEO_TS files turned from 4416MB's to 4650 MB's..Do you think that is the problem??
Also another thing...the RMVB's for the Anime are AWSOME Quality...Very Clear and Crisp Picture even when I converted it.
What do you use to turn RMVBs Into AVI's?? Also what do you use?? Please tell me the steps you use because if there is something better please tell me and teach me... -
I don't convert RMVB because I have never seen one that was worth the effort. I would love to have someone show me some that support this reputation it has with some people. So far, all the RMBV I have ever seen look like they came through YouTube first.

Hey GunS1inger do u have AIM or Yahoo IM??
What's your name mine is dragon63942 at AIM.
Also I have AVI's...What is your method to put AVI's onto DVD-R's to watch them on your DVD Player??
What method do you use?? You said ConvertXtoDVD Sucks so what do you use to make the Video_TS File??
I like IMG Burn A LOT -
I never said ConvertXtoDVD sucks - I'm a big fan of it for fast conversions. For higher quality conversions I use avisynth, Vegas and ProCoder amongst other things. But for Divx/Xvid material I just burn it to a data disc with Imgburn and play it as-is. I stopped converting for most videos some time ago.
As for IM - I don't have one installed on any of my computers. -
-
Why whenever I load stuff into ConvertXtoDVD...
I got 3.99 GB's and did the Converting to Video_TS
Why does it go from 3.99 to 4.3GB and then When I load it up in IMG Burn it says Image Size 4.6 GB's why does it add an extra .6 GB's ? -
Different file systems. ConvertXtoDVD will be re-encoding to maximise space use, plus overheads from authoring. The resulting file size is based on NTFS. When Imgburn looks at the file size I suspect it is reporting it in terms of UDF - the target file system.
-
SO does that mean ALL MY DIscs with 8 Episodes with be coming at about 4.65 GB's??
Won't this cause Problems?? I heard you should never go beyond 4.5 GBz -
If you discs are good, you can go to the edge. If not, pull it back some. ConvertxtoDVD lets you define the space it should use, so set it to what makes you comfortable. Of use a dedicated encoder and set the bitrate yourself to make it fit.
-
Well I did set ConvertXtoDVD...to 4300MB's I have Taiyo Yuden 8x Thermal DVD-R's...
It is weird I use FitCD which has the same settings you gave me as last time...I then Take the AVS Files or AVsynth files and put them in ConvertXtoDVD...
I set ConvertXtoDVD up so it saves to my hard drive...I then Convert all the avs files into a VIDEO_TS File but the Size went up when I was done...
like when I loaded all my avs files into ConvertXtoDVD it said it would be 3.99GB's but then I check it and it went up to 4.6GB's all the time I tried it with 9 Episodes first and got this then I tried it with 8 Episodes and it did the same thing...
Why is it going up so HIGH in FileSize? -
It doesn't matter whether or not you do 2 episodes or 8 episodes, it will try to maximise the amount of space it uses to get the highest bitrate it can. However there is a limit to how much it can squeeze in. 3 hours is comfortable, 4 hours is possible, but to my mind is pushing it way to much.
How long is each episode ? -
Just want to say I struggled with this problem a lot when it came to anime shows with fixed or burnt in subs. I have a 40 inch HDTV and it chops a fairly large chunk of video off the bottom and top of my burned dvds.
It's actually pretty unnoticeable until subbs pop up and you see the end of y's p's j's etc getting chopped off.
However this is a TV issue from what I understand and different TV's all have their own range of overscan. Is this correct? So if I insert these blocks in my video essentially they will be tailor made DVD's only for my HDTV at home and if I pop these DVD's into my computer or into a different TV black boarders may show on the top and bottom of the screen.
Reguardless this is going in my bookmarks! Thanks, CovertXtoDVD support is reluctent to use programs other then theirs even if they work.
Edit: Also I would like to ask how you would go about figureing out how much your TV is overscanning? I want to add blocks into my DVD's with FitCD but how do I know what size of blocks are good for my type of TV. I would rather not use trial and error and use up a bunch of my blank DVD's.
