Hi,
I downloaded some divx files and they play fine fine and look great on my computer but when I try to playing them on my samsung dvd-r145 they are choppy. ( also have friend that has he same player and the same thing happens) I have burned them a number of times using diferent programs and media, even when I put the actual disk on the computer they look good as well. anybody have any ideas? can the divx or xvid coding be diferent than the one the dvd uses? if so can it be flashed? thanks in advance for your help.

There are Divx and xvid features that many set-top Divx/DVD players don't support. The solution is to reencode your video without those features.

Load the files into MPEG4Modifier, if they're packed bitstream your player might not like them.

DivX only packs bframes when there is 1 consecutive. For > 1 it doesn't pack them since this results in only the first being packed which is where the problem occurs with some players/firmwares.
So either they aren't compressed with DivX or the problem is something else.
