The source avi file size does not matter. You are converting to another video format that requires higher file size to acheive similiar video quality. How many minutes are the avi divx video?

And try something else than NeroVision like ConvertXtoDVD or DVD Flick.

    And please search, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=323519&highlight=wont+fit https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=323372&highlight=wont+fit

As a general (but not exact) rule, converting Divx/xvid encode material to DVD requires 3 - 4 times the bitrate (and therefore space) to maintain similar quality. So your 4GB of Divx/Xvid files realistically needs 3 - 4 (or more) DVD5s.

If you are willing to do the conversions manually then you can look at options like half-D1 resolution, which will allow you to use a lower bitrate, and so get more on a disc. But none of the one-click-wonders do this.

  5. I believe Baldrick gave you the sw that you can use. Let me suggest a free one: AVI2DVD and use the inbuilt HCEnc Encoder. You can search the Guide Section of this forum for guides of using this sw, but it is really easy.

If you want more control then use AVISynth+Encoder of your choice.
