I have a lengthy movie (2hrs 40 min) that I would like to rip to 2 XviDs. However, I'd also like to create a subtitle file for each half. How would I go about doing this?
Is there a program I could use to split the subtitle file where I need to (by chapter), or rip on a chapter by chapter basis?

The problem is instead of making a 1.4GB file and splitting it into two equal parts (ie. the very middle of the movie), I chose to encode 2 files with Handbrake that are roughly equal in time, give or take 12 minutes. Thus, I fear that even if I enter the running time of the first file with a typical subtitle cutting application, the second subtitle file will experience a lag or synch problem of some sort.
It'd be helpful if there were some good tools for mac, but I could give the pgcdemux tool a try after transfering my files over to a PC.
