Hi,
Whats the easiest way to get subtitles from a DVD I own. I only want the subtitles not anything else....do I still need to rip the whole thing to my HD with DVDDecrypter? Thanks

Hi-
VobSub Configure (comes included with VobSub) can get them directly from the DVD in the DVD-ROM, but it can be fairly slow. You'll get them in IDX/SUB format. If you want to have them in a text format (SRT, SSA, etc.), then open the IDX in SubResynch (also included in VobSub) and do the OCR. That's one way, anyway, and the way I'd do it if all I was interested in was the subs.do I still need to rip the whole thing to my HD with DVDDecrypter? -
I just shamelessly search the web... Subts and CC of 9 out of 10 movies (western DVDs) have been published on many websites.
Using VobSub isn't that peachy - you have to 'teach it' OCR at first (all the letters and characters), thats why I do it myself only if I can't find them on the web.
And I don't give a shit it is 'illegal' according to crooked legislators in some countries. Since I own the DVD and I can 'rip' the subtitles myself in few minutes, downloading them already 'ripped' by someone else is only more convenient version of doing it yourself.
