  1. Hi,
I cannot read the .DAT file on certain VCD i receive. I can play the ones i make myself no problem, which i burn in TAO format. When i burn in DAO format the last DAT file wont play, and this is a major problem as when theres only 1 dat file on the disc i cant play the movie at all.

Anyway, i can open most .DAT files in WMP, but not certain ones. I can play them no problem in DVD players, but what i want to do is convert them to MPG and keep them on my HD for an FTP.

Problem is i cant copy them do my HD either.

Ive tried using VCDGear to convert the .dat to mpg but i just get corrupted MPG files.

If anyone can help me i'd appritiate it.

  2. Try vcdxrip from vcdimager www.vcdimager.org .
Use CDRWIN and make an image(bin/cue) of your VCD disk to your hard drive. Use vcdxrip and you will get the mpg files ripped in a proper manner to your HD.
