i have several un-finalized discs using the sanyo drw-500 recorder. the unit recently stopped working entirely, so i purchased an rca model (which i'm about to return due to missing event timers). i tried using the rca to finalize the sanyo discs but they are apparently incompatible. is there a compatible recorder on the market, can i use a pc, or do i need to find a sanyo drw-500 somewhere? it appears the sanyo models are not sold at either circuit city or best buy. thanks.

Finalizing typically needs to be done on the originating recorder, usually at the time of recording, but not always. As for other models, it will be a matter of trial and error unless you can find a reference to the hardware used in the sanyo. Such as they are rebadging another brand or another brand is rebadging their player.
