I keep getting Power calibration errors? and then write fails? I am tried different software and everything??

Strongly suggest you look at MJA's link. If you live in the USA and Canada, the ONLY reliable media you can buy is Taiyo Yuden (you'll have to buy online) and Verbatim. That's it. Using better media should help. Burning at slower speeds can often fix this problem too. Both are suggested in the link.

Were is the logfile located?

What burning program are you using? The ImgBurn (Highly recommended) logfile is under 'Help' to the R side of the menus. In Nero, try: c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log
