I have two video files subtitle files in the form of .srt files....
what is the best way to join them??...
for use then in authoring a DVD.
Also so they dont lose synchronisation with audio and video?
any tips

Do you mean the subs for the second half of the film start at time=zero again?
If so, use Subtitle Workshop.
Read its help file, under "join". If you have the corresponding video files it can calculate the offset from that. Otherwise you can enter the value. -
or if the time doesnt start at zero again you can just paste both sets of subtitles into notepad and save it as a .srt

Use http://www.submagic.tk/. It's free, can join subs and play the .avi file. You can sync up the subs with the movie, make timing adjustments, and do a variety of things. I have many foreign language .avi movies and I use SubMagic for all of them.
