  1. My Winfast tv tuner has served me well but there is some noise on some channels and some slight lines rolling in the background on some channels. It just could have a cleaner appearance. Is this due to being in a computer case or just the nature of a pci tv tuner? Is there any tv tuners out there that will give me a better picture and better quality recordings for analog tv?

What do you expect using the tuner component ... there all rubbish .

Best to split up the signal via the vcr ... send video to capture device ... send audio to pc line-in .
Throw the audio cross over cable that came with it out the window .

This will give you a superior picture quality than from the rf input on the device .

The vcr is a superior tuner , and use the vcr remote to change the channel's .
Set capture program to use vtr mode , and to record from pc line-in (make sure in volume control , that lie-in is not set to mute)

It would help a great deal if MPeg2 is the goal. What are you trying to do?

The main difference between the Winfast tuner and the PVR-250 is hardware MPeg2 encoding in the PVR series. The Winfast relies on the CPU for encoding.

If you suspect the interference is due to the PC, an external model like the WinTV PVR USB2 (internally a PVR-250) is ideal for separating the tuner from PC noise and PC power.
