I have every season of csi in avi format and im converting them all to dvds, on the 4th season i tried converting first 5 eps but it wont fit on a dvd it says its gone over the limit by 120mb when i throw it on a dvd the sound is out of sync but when i play the avi file its fine.

is this because the conversion has gone over its alloted size that the sound is out os sync?

when i convert a dvd i turn the pc off for 5 minutes make sure it calms down then turn it on make sure nothing is running then i start the converting process and dont touch the pc untill its finished so nothing can be making the conversion slow down or jump etc.

    thanks for your help guys

Check your AVI files with Gspot 2.60 and look to see if the 'VBR' audio indicator is lit. MP3 VBR audio is a common cause of sync problems, though ConvertX can handle it most times.

What's the total running time of the 5 episodes combined? If you try to put too much in there, it may lower the quality more than you like. But that should not affect the sync. You may also have some corrupted frames or audio within one of the files that is causing a sync problem.

    And welcome to our forums.

Make sure you have the latest version of ConvertXtoDVD. It is updated fairly frequently.

Personally, I think more than 3 episodes at full-D1 is too much, but each to their own. You can always make an oversize disc and shrink it with DVD Shrink afterwards.

just converted1 episode by itself and it is fine so i presume its the size thats causing the issue.

if so this means i will have to do less files per dvd liek 4 episodes or something

Big and baseless assumption at this point. I add the next one in, and do both together, then the third, then the fourth. If you are impatient, just go straight to all four. I suspect you just have one dodgy file that is the issue.

i have doen them as 4 eps per disc now, only down part i will have to do more covers as i already printed them all

but all works fine now so must of been a case of overloadin which made the audio go out of sync
