Which resolution do you use? For me, Its 800x600 ALWAYS. Especially when using a laptop when a small screen.
I see other laptop users around my college, with resolutions like 1280x768, and i wonder how the hell they can stand to use them like that. Everything being so Tiny.
So which do you do?

Hi,
I have a widescreen laptop and use 1920x1200, it'd drive you nuts!! If you have less than 20/20 vision it's pretty hard to see. -
1024 X 768 on most everything, including my laptop. If I had a 19" monitor, I would probably use a higher setting. Most all LCDs get the best quality at their native settings and that usually goes by the screen size.
I have friends with poor eyesight that prefer 800 X 600. which works better with CRT type monitors. I find most internet sites are sized for 1024 X 768, so that is another consideration. I've tried the 1280 X settings, but with a 17" monitor, still too small for me. -
For those with desktops & LARGER monitors i guess i could understand using a smaller res.
But for a laptop with a small screen, I GOTTA have *800x600*. What good is having a higher resolution if its so tiny, that you CAN'T see anything clearly?

laptop(15.4" widescreen): 1280x800
desktop(20.1" widescreen): 1680x1050
These settings are great for me, and I'm not a teenager, I'm 20 :P
my brothers laptop is a 15.4' screen with 1680x1050 resolution, and I do find that a little hard to see.
The fact that my desktop monitor is 20 inches makes the high resolution quite readable. -
Im approaching 40 myself , but dont have any issue's with any screen res used ... the higher the better ... so I can fit all my crap on the desktop for quick access on site .

1280 x960, I'd go larger but a lot of websites are using fixed font sizes which makes some of them impossible to read.

You get more on the screen at once, and bearing in mind some programs won`t run on 800 x 600 -

I just bought a ViewSonic 19" LCD (model VX922) which has a native resolution of 1280x1024 so that is what I use now.
Before I had a Sony Trinitron CRT 17" and I used 800x600 at first then slowly changed to 1024x768 which took a bit of getting used to on that display (was a bit small) but I finally did. I actually preferred 800x600 on it but some programs wouldn't work right without the resolution being 1024x768 and that also applied to some website designs as well so I eventually got used to it.
Right now I am happy with the 1280x1024 of the 19" LCD although at first I thought the text was small ... but here I am barely 6 weeks later and I've adjusted.
I should point out though that I only use 1280x1024 because it is the native resolution of the LCD ... otherwise I might very well be using 1024x768 still.

1024x768 on a 17" flat screen tube monitor. Works just fine for me personally. I don't need to go any higher or lower.

1280 x 1024 on a 17 inch CRT.
1. 800x600, my god, not used that resolution for about 5 years.
2. Looking at stats from webpage visits to a few different web sites, 1024x768 still seems about the most popular though is closely followed by 1280x1024. I expect the 1280 will become the 'norm' during the year.
3. If you are going to run a poll, at least include all the popular resolutions. -
1024x768 on a 17" CRT
I find a lot of programs and websites are unworkable at lower resolutions.
If the fonts or other objects are too small at higher resolutions you can adjust them.
Right click on the desktop and look at "properties". -
1280 X 1024 on my 17" TFT
This resolution should be on the poll option since many people use it.
