Try wav or mp2 or ac3 audio.

DVDs can only use MP2, AC3, or WAV. And it has to be 48000HZ (as opposed to 44100HZ of CD/most MP3 music).
A simple, free way to convert your files is a program called BeSweet. Take a look for it on the net. I use AC3 myself since it is the DVD standard, has good quality (like the WAV) and small size (like the MP2). -
Should also ask where this mp3 came from ... if from online , it could be server side licensed wrapped ... always thinking , not just smoking .
