Hi all, I was hoping someone here would have an answer for me.
I have the Daytek DV5601 which I have connected with an HDMI cable. I've ripped some of my movies to xvid for playback. Most of them work fine, but the odd one shows that it's playing (timer on the dvd front is moving), but there is just a black screen. I thought it must have just been the conversion process (bit rate too high for the player perhaps). However, if I switch to S-video, it plays fine. Any ideas what would be causing this so I can avoid the issue in the future and play everything back using the HDMI cable?
Thanks for any assistance

OK, problem solved, but I don't know how. Out of a sense of "why not, it can't hurt, right?", I went into the setup menu and restored the defaults. Then I went through and, as far as I can tell, set everything back to exactly what it was before. All the discs that weren't working before now work. But now this is really bugging me. Any one out there have any ideas what it may have been?

I have the same issue too . Sometimes I play the dvd which I download the movie from internet . At the middle of the movie it goes all black , I was using HDMI and 720P. But if I switch back to normal AV than it is fine.
