    Hello,
    I converted all my old VHS to DVDs. Most of my tapes looks alright, but some has those black smearings (see the picture i'v attached). I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 3 and Adobe After Effects 7.

    Is it possible to fix this smearing somehow? Perhaps with another software or plugin that I don't have (yet)?

    Your luma is all shot to hell. This has to be fixed at the VCR level. It's too late for software.
