    I currently aquired some LG speakers and they have an american plug and I used a converter to run them. I switeched over to a power strip that did not have a converter and I think I burnt them out... can I fix that? PLease Please help!!!

    If you didn't use a converter, you probably burnt them out with 220 volts going into a 120 volt unit.

    I'm assuming the speakers have a power supply block. Is the power supply block rated for 240 VAC, 50Hz, assuming that's your local voltage? If not, you would need a voltage converter or you would likely destroy the power supply block, though not as likely the speakers themselves. Replace the power supply block with one rated for 240 VAC with the correct plug and output voltage and see if they still work. Or use a 240 VAC to 120 VAC converter.

    If you are talking about a outlet adapter that allows you to use US style plugs in European or other style outlets, the device plugged in would still need to be rated for 240 VAC, 50Hz or it would likely be damaged.

    Just to add one point it is possible for a power supply to be multi voltage and frequency. Unlikely since the equipment was damaged though.
