Need more information.
Is this a PAL or NTSC model ... what model?
Is the TV a PAL or NTSC TV or HDTV or what? What is the model number?
Are you playing a PAL or NTSC DVD on it?
What are the properties of the DIVX file? (use GSpot)
You are using composite video? Are you sure progressive scan is turned off? Progressive scan is only supported via component video or DVI/HDMI etc.

Hi,
Player Pioneer model no. DVDP - 393S
Television has got a auto / PAL / NTSC options. It is currently set to auto set up.
I am trying to play some documentaries which have got avi extension. The player is playing alright but there is no colour although the player is playing the usual dvds in full colour on the same TV.Progressive scan is off in the composite
Please advice.
Thanks -
Try changing the output of the dvd player to NTSC or PAL and see what happens. Maybe having both devices set to AUTO is causing an issue.
