i'm thinking of buying one of these, i was wondering what everybody thought of them. i download alot of tv programs which are avi files, i'm hoping the 5960 will stop me wasting time converting them to dvd and mpeg. does this feature work well ? and will it still play my mpeg and vob files ? also does the multi-region hack work ?
thanx

I am able to play Region 1,2 and 3 on my hacked 5960. Good Luck.. -

I was looking for the same thing, and this player does it all.
I do not have my PC chained to the Tele, so I had to convert captured video before I could play it.
The 5960 allows direct play of .mpg and .vob files.
Now I simply Capture > Burn(DVDRW) > Play.
What a time saver.RipIt4Me - DVDdecrypter - DVDShrink - StaxRip - AutoGK - iRiverter - AVI ReComp
MuvAudio - ImgBurn - Paperless Printer - Nero6 Ultra -
You can also hook up an external hard drive or plug in a USB flash drive and play files off of those too. For ~$70US this is a great player and worth the money.
Mediocrity is the new Gold Standard.
Buy Platinum.
