When I place .avi or .asf files into NERO to be burned as either VCD or SVCD, it goes through an encoding process first which I assume it to convert them into .mpeg files. Should I use this....does it work the same way as TMPGEnc? Whenever I try using TMPGEnc, it freezes and whenever I try using VIRTUALDUB to avoid TMPGEnc from freezing, it doesn't produce a .wav file but instead produces some unreadable file type.
Also, I used NERO once to convert to SVCD from a .avi file and it said it encoded and burned it to the CD-R. But when I tried to play it (Pioneer DV-525 which plays mostly everything and is highly ranked), the DVD player picked it up as only a CD and it didn't work.
Most of my files are divx in .avi and .asf so I really need to know how to convert them to VCD and SVCD efficiently without all these problems (i have a headache!!).
What is the best way to go about converting and buring my dixv .avi files?
Thank you for all your help!!!!!
