I tried to use Ulead to capture analog source at 640x480 to AVi format. I see jagged edges for moving objects when I pause to look at a frame. It seems like the frame captures 2 interlaced shots and moving objects gets a ghost. One gets capture by the even scan lines, the other by the odd lines.
Is that right?
How do I fix it? When I use MPEG and turn on deinterlacing, the problem seems to go away. But I really would like to capture to AVI.
Thanks.

Yes yours is the typical interlacing problem and is very common for videos captured for a higher vertical resolution( > 240). You could capture to AVI and apply a deinterlace filter using Virtualdub http://www.virtualdub.org . This deinterlacing filter only sort of blends the interlaced areas and sometimes may not yield a good picture. You could alternatively use Avisynth http://www.videotools.net and try other methods described for deinterlacing.
