    Hi huys,

Two questions for you all that if you can figure, would probably make my new year. When ive had an image file, nero would burn this straight off to a dvd for me but for some time, whenever i try this, nero just crashes. I tried reinstalling nero, it didnt work. I use iso buster now to get the film from the image, but its a pain.

Also, though not connected with film, i cannot burn music discs at all through anything, although burning films with shrink etc work ok. I used to use media player 11 to burn my selected songs, but now, even though it shows it converting etc, burning, the actual disc is empty. Ive tried burning in nero, and either nero just crashes, or says there is no disc in the drive, when of course there is.

Thanks guys if you can help with this one.

ImgBurn is a freeware program that is the best program for DVD Video burning. Give that a try instead of NERO for such projects.

As for burning a DATA DISC or a MUSIC AUDIO CD I must admit that NERO is the tool that I use and I have no idea why it is acting up for you.

I've heard some say that CDBurnerXP Pro is a good alternative for burning audio and data discs but I tried it once and it crashed on me. However that was a while ago and people here who know such things say it works so it was probably just a fluke that I had issues. I suggest you might want to give it a try.

Just thought i would pop a note in, i have tried the cdburner software. It went through the burning process, but again, the actual disc is still empty. I tried doing it through media player again. As soon as i insert a disk, the pc restarts, and then it wont regognise there is a disc in the drive. Can anyone else help?

It sounds like your drive is bad. Go into Device Manager, find it, uninstall it and reboot. If the problem persists it's probably time for a new drive.
