divx on dvd-r?

well im about to buy a divx compaitble dvd player, and im curious if u can put divx files on a dvd-r cd and have it play on the divx dvd player?
cuz i am goin to be burning tv seasons, so bigger disc = better
if not, i guess i can only use cd-r's?

and about burning divx to dvd-r's, do i just burn a 'data' dvd?

Yes, just burn as a data DVD. CDs will work as well as a data CD. If you have problems with playback with some files, you can run them through AVI ReComp to make them player compatible.
