It seems there is a lot of cuttermaran users here, and I'd like to ask you all a noob question.

I've just started using this excellent program (version 1.68a) to cut out segments of a main movie to make motion menus etc. However, on the current source I'm working on, the cut preview doesn't work. The preview on the main screen works fine. But if I go to preview my cuts, the window opens, the cuts are parsed, and when I click play an error pops up: "An operation failed due to a certification failure. Is codec missing?"

I have no idea what codec could be missing. The source was encoded with CCE so I doubt there's anything wrong with it. And I'm working on the video stream alone - no audio.

Any ideas? Is it a problem with this bug-fix version?

    Thanks
    Dave

Well I tried the previous version, as well as 1.67 and 1.66, and they all do the same thing. Anyone know if the K-Lite codec pack interferes with Cuttermaran somehow?

It's all working now. I realised the K-Lite codec pack is not a good idea. After reinstalling my system the preview still wouldn't work. Then I found mpeg2 decoding wasn't enabled in ffdshow. Enabling it fixed the problem.
