    Hi Everyone.

Have been using iSkysoft and MpegSteamclip to convert video for along time. Came across ffmpegX and thought I would give it a try.

Have gone through some tuts and tried encoding some video that I have. The only problem is that I cannot get the preview button to work.

    The Play button works fine.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    -Franky

    Great. Thanks.

    Am still looking for suggestions.

I've been reading up. All my binary files are located in the correct spots within my computer. I've tried previewing an h.264 MOV. That did not work. I've also tried previewing a .vob file. That didn't preview either.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

ffmpegX has two Preview functions with different use. Please be advised that: --
    1. the Preview button in the upper right corner is for previewing already encoded content while the conversion is still in progress. It lets you have a look at what the encoder is doing. What you see is the output file. It will not show anything before you have clicked Encode.
    2. the Preview button in the lower right corner of the Filters tab is for previewing your settings (subtitle, audio track selection, etc.) with your source file. What you see is the input file with some settings and filters applied. The clock lets you jump in at a certain timecode.

See here and here for more details on these two Preview buttons.

ffmpegX 0.0.9x r1 (Sept 23, 2006) was superseded by ffmpegX 0.0.9x r2 (Oct 2, 2006 -- new feature) and later ffmpegX 0.0.9y (Jan 26, 2008 -- bug fixes, new features and unfortunately a new bug in the calculator).
