Hi All, Been a long time user and LOVE IT!!! I have a small problem with a new iMac G5.
I installed v.9x.r2 and the binaries and when I try to view a file using the "info" button or view it in mplayer neither respond. It will encode the file!!! I have ver9.w on my iBook g3 and the files play on mplayer and the info is available.

Also I tried to fix the .avi file and it said:
    MEncoder dev-CVS-051126-18:35-3.3 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team
    AltiVec found
    CPU: PowerPC
    File not found: '/Volumes/xxxx
    Exiting...
    Failed to open /Volumes/xxxx
    Cannot open file/device.

Yes, I booted from a second partition and I used the browse option to locate the file.
The main start-up HD also has ver. x.r2 and has the same problems....

Please help...it's alot nice towatch on a 24" screen as opposed to 14....

Try downloading and installing the binaries again. If mplayer is missing or corrupt, then a fresh copy could fix that.

As you've x'ed out the path and file, it is not clear if it tries to find your video file or a program component, or if there is a problem with the path itself.

You should run ffmpegX from the same partition as you booted from.
