I have just started to dabble in transferring my home analog videos to CD. I want to be able to view them both on my PC and Sony DVD player connected to our TV. I am using Intervideo's WinCoder and WinProducer that came with my video card. Is there any compatibility issues that I need to know about with this software that is causing me major headaches?
Is there other software that is compatible with Win XP that you would recommend?
    Thanks.

What problems are you having ? I'm guessing that you're doing an analog capture on that card from the VHS source. I'd definately try to use Huffyuv Codec and VirtualDUb on it. Look to the LEFT under CAPTURE. You're gonna need lots of harddrive room though. 1 hour takes approx. 20 gig But it is truly the only way to get perfect replication of your analog (VHS) tapes...

  3. Thanks for your advice.
Specifically, after I have captured, edited and saved it in WinProducer in VCD format, I try to burn it as a video CD in Nero and get that box saying that the encoding is not correct. This site has the box displayed in the Authoring section dealing with Nero problems.
