  1. Recently I have been trying to Cut/Rip my favorite scenes from DVD Movies in my collection.

I start by importing the DVD into re-author mode of DVD Shrink.

Secondly I Backup the selected clip and then re-open it in VideoReDo Plus

I then save it as a MPEG Program Stream (.mpg).

For some reason the files play perfect in Windows Media Player, and some don't play perfect in Winamp. But this isn't even the biggest issue. The biggest issue is when I import the video into Adobe Premeire, the video seems to STUTTER, the audio plays doesn't seem to lag as much but it also lags enough -- and the video clarity is basically the same as my actual DVD. But I really want to be able to edit using Premeire.

Can I anyone help me or give me suggestions as to why I can't seem to import these videos successfully into Adobe Premeire?

    Thanks

    -Nikos

Premiere doesn't particularly like mpeg video. Like Vegas, it needs to uncompress the mpeg encoding in order to work with it. If you haven't allowed it time to do this, or you have a slower machine, this could cause performance issues when editing. You have not indicated which version of Premiere you are using (some are better at this than others) or what you PC specs are, so it is difficult to be more specific at this stage.

  3. Is their another program similiar to Premeire that likes Mpeg?

I Have AP 6.0. My machine is reasonably fast. 3.6ghz and 1Gig of Ram.

That is a very old version Premiere, and to handle mpeg I believe you would have to purchase and install the mainconcept mpeg editing plugin.

I believe Premiere Pro 1,5 or 2.0 will edit mpegs, but they are still not the best environment to do it. If you are going to edit mpeg files you are better off either converting to a lossless format while editing, or using an mpeg editor like VideoRedo, which you do already have.

  5. I only have the trial version of Video Redo, but is their a way to duplicate a portion of a scene and replay it back 3-4 times? In other words like the Premeire Timeline, to copy and paste a portion of a file 3 or 4 times, thus creating a new file with repeats? I have only used the program so far to CUT out scenes and convert the Shrink files into Windows Media Player playable files.

From your knowledge, does this program have that capability?
