  1. I use Subtitle Workshop and i'd like to add black color(background) in the subtitle.
    Please see http://i3.tinypic.com/4i2s2n8.jpg

    That's useful when some scenes of the film are very clear. In these cases, i can't almost read the subtitles.

    Oh, and yes, i know there are options such as secondary color, shadow, but i really want to add the "black box".

    Any help really appreciated.

    What are you going to make? a video that you are only going to play on your computer? a dvd? avi with permanent subtitles?

    I don't know what formats KVCD uses, but you can do it in the SUP file used by many DVD authoring apps.

    Open text subs in Subtitle Creator.
    Set Background color as black, uncheck transparent.
    Choose other colors, fonts, position.
    Export as SUP.

    You can also edit the colors in a SUP file using DVDSubedit.

    I've just done this to put English subtitles over burnt in Chinese ones.
