Textsub Filter

I try to add a permanent subtitle to an AVI file with VDub using the Textsub filter,
for the compression process i choose Divx 6.2, but the final product was the double of the original file, when i try Xvid i ogot an error message "Statsfile not found"
how can compress the video with the same size?

You must set the video bitrate to get the file size you want. You can calculate the bitrate with a bitrate calculator, see our tools section. Then apply the average video bitrate in virtuadub under the divx codec settings.

For Xvid I think you are using 2-pass-encoding and you haven't made the first pass. Change to 1-pass encoding under the xvid codec configuration.

You find the video configuration in virtualdub under video->compression and select divx or xvid and click on configuration/settings.
