OK I have done hundreds of conversions to svcd of mpg and avi files fin e no issues!!

BUT I have recently the need to convert 4 *.mov files I have the plugin installed

tmpgenc loads the files no problem I choose the settings I want and start the conversion the software start the conversion gets about 11 frames in then hangs. I tried increasing the priority still no joy same problem.

So Ok I think I'll try converting it first so I have tried mov2avi but I am not sure exactly how to express the codecs and things so then I tried some a quickeditor and smartvid all to no avail

can anyone who has some experience with this please help me out?

On a similar note..can .mov files simply be converted by Nero like Nero does with other formats to MPEG? Save a step and all that.

I tried nero but got unsupported format now wether that is my files or all .mov files I am unclear

Also nero is so painfully slow !! and from what I read not as high quality?

I read else where there is a need to convert from one format of .mov to another before converting to avi or mpeg? to be honest I am getting really annoyed with it!!

  4. The best piece of software I found that gives good quality and easy to encode .mov to .mpg/.avi is EO Video.

I have been using EO Video to convert my movie trailer collection with no problems at all.

You'll find a link to EO Video at http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm
