Hi! I'm new here and hope that someone can help me. I've got a Panasonic Lumix digital camera that takes video. When I download from my camera to my comp the video saves as a .mov file and will only play in Quicktime. I can't see any way to change the file ext, as I only have a limited version of Quicktime.

I'd like to find a way to convert .mov files into something I can import into Photostory 3 or Power Producer so that I can burn to DVD. Trouble is, I can't get this to happen. I've tried a few converters (RAD tools, DVDFlick, etc), but the resulting .avi file is garbled and unuseable.

I have a dial-up internet connection so downloading takes me forever. I don't mind doing it, but have spent a lot of time downloading programs that don't work. I also don't mind having to purchase software to get this done (though the cheaper the better), but I just want to make sure that it will work for me. I was going to upgrade my Quicktime, but the reviews on it suck and I'm hesitant to do this. Any feedback on what works and what doesn't? I don't really care if I have tons of editing features and such, as long as I can take the video and burn it onto DVD, I'll be happy.

I've also got an option with PowerProducer (I believe it is) to burn directly to DVD...but when I try this with the .mov file is says that the DVD I'm using isn't compatible. not sure what's up with that. I've got issues. HAHA

And on another note...I've got Maxell DVD +R blank media...is something else better for burning DVD's??

(incase it effects anything - my burner is an LG Super Multi 20x DVD burner GSA-H55L)
