Since CCE seemed to be too unstable for me, is there any other GOOD encoder out there? I am willing to pay for a good one... I need SUPERB quality. I also need to use avisynth scripts.

    ps. I am on a 64-bit Intel. A 64-bit encoder maybe?

I second tmpgenc. Very good encoder and plenty of control over your settings

I'd second HC, i've been using it quite a lot and have been very surprised how good it is.

TMPGEncPlus is 4 times slower (per pass) than CCE, TMPGEncXpress (my second choice after CCE) - just twice.

The only encoder that might compete with CCE in terms of quality is Procoder. I like TMPGenc and it is a very good value for the money, but it's not as good as CCE. Maybe you can search on the internet and find out if others are having similar problems. I've had some issues with CCE on AMD systems, but I did some research and got some helpful hints. My problems had nothing to do with AMD but were actually caused by other things, such as motherboard overheating.

I have found CCE to be very stable, and only ever gives me problems when it is my error. The only reports I have seen regarding real instability with CCE could all be traced back to the use of unofficial licensing methods (read warez patches).

Assuming you have paid for CCE, your first port of call should be to make sure you have the latest patches, and then their support line.
