  1. Hi,
I've a whole dvd movie on my hdd and want to make a menu to it.
Can you recommend a program that can add my whole dvdmovie-file, like tmpegenc dvd author can do, and can make motion menu and add backgrounds music.

I do have the tmpegenc 1.6 but the background music has to be from the real movie and not like from a instrumental that can be added later, the version 2 can do it but I is there any other??
With Ulead dvd author 2 the output is wack and Sony dvd Architect 4 cant add the whole dvd-movie.

    Thanks so much
    appreciate your help

I create all my motions menus, including audio, in my editor (Vegas) and then use these when I author (with DLP). Use your editor, make the motion menu and music, then add these to the menu in TDA.

TDA v.2.1 would be one of the best solutions, it will import your video with all its chapter points and make the menu of the type you want with automatically linked buttons.

Its only the background music that I need to add.

Dvdauthorgui can generate a motion script ... you just need to have avisynth and it's addons installed before using it .

I use it for my chapter sellection menu's ... but you can use them anywhere in the menu structure ... and it dosent cost you anything .

Manipulating the scripts takes time for accuracy ... but if you stick with the basics , it's all you will need .

Your learning about commercial products I see ... yes they dont always add up to be good value in the long run when you can do everything using freeware , and have NO restrictions in your projects .

Commercial reality is that software costs are a small component of overall costs when compared to labor. While most things can be done for no initial cost outlay using free software, the actually labor costs involved are often higher and the compromises greater to achieve this. Ideologists don't like to admit this, but it is simply a fact. Often a moderate outlay on software can be worth the longer term savings in labor costs over so-called free software. For the hobbyist the equation is different, and free software may well be worth the extra time.

The real trick is finding the balance between what is commercial and cost effective, and what is free and really worth the time. The is room for both, but anyone who says you don't need commercial software because you can do it all for free at the same quality level is a fool. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

TDA 1.6 will do motion/music backgrounds for your menu, if you make an mpeg1 of what you want and use that.
