Making dvd from .avi and add subtitles

I downloaded movies in .avi. Now I want to burn them as a dvd AND add also subtitles. I checked many sources as how to do this but those all concerned when ripping dvd's. Can anybody help me or give me the sources how to do this?

The main question, do you already have the subtitles? If so, a simple program like ConvertXToDVD can handle some formats of subtitles and create the DVD fairly easily. I use .srt format subs. If you don't have the subtitles, then the answer can get somewhat complicated. You might visit our Subtitle Forum for more information.

I've used Xvids that have separate subtitle files with ConvertXToDVD and it seemed to work well enough. The program seems to find them automatically.

I have subtitles. I just download them from the net. I will try your suggestion.
