Hi all, I am trying to help a friend out who needs to split MOV video files made with a digital camera. Does anyone know of a shareware proggy that can do this preferably without adware included?

    thanks

Well, I told my friend I thought the best idea was to splurge for Quicktime pro. Doesn't look like there are a lot of other good options from searching around here and the guides.

I couldn't think of any freeware ones off hand. Maybe someone else here can. Lots of converters to change MOVs to other formats. It may be like RM files, where the source company (Real, in that case) has a tight lock on competition to their software.

    And welcome to our forums.

A lot of '.mov' files produced by digital still cameras are in fact mjpeg encoded. SUPER says it will convert from mov to other formats, so if it is mjpeg based, SUPER to Huffyuv might be a good move.
