I am still using V6 also and have not used V7 myself, so my opinion is formed on hearsay and problems reported on these boards. But if the number of issues reported here is anything to go by, I would stick with V6. Also I haven't heard of any new or improved features either.
If it ain't broke, don't fix itIf in doubt, Google it. -
Hi Lothar,
I'm afraid I'd have to advise you not to upgrade. I downloaded the trial version & it totally messed up my whole set up. I was using Version 6 like yourself mainly to use NeroVision Express to make quick DVD's of TV series I ripped. V.7 just kept on crashing & when it did work, my menu's wouldn't work, so it meant a wasted disc. I uninstalled it & went back to V.6 but I still had problems. So in the end I uninstalled that & found a nice simple little program called ConvertXtoDVD. Very simple, easy to use & it's fast! Only complaint I've got about it is that you can't create animated chapter windows. But for something thats a fraction of the price & is very stable you can't complain!
But then again, if you've not got any probs with V.6 keep on using it..Don't you just love it when a plan comes together! :) -
Lothar,
The whole upgrade to V7 is very frustrating because some things like Nero Recode seem to have several important and useful upgrades whereas Nero Vision Express like the previous poster noted is more unstable, I did upgrade to V7 and really wish I could mix and match applications but can't. If you aren't missing anything I would really recommend staying with V6.
Mostly I capture Video and use Recode to back up DVD's and have rolled back my V7 to my previous installation of Nero Digital Pro which is based on V6. -
I finally upgraded to a burner that will do double-layer.
The last upgrade to Nero 6 will allow burning of both DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL, correct?
The last upgrade to Nero 6 also supports lightscribe.
Does anyone know of a new feature to the DVD burning Rom engine in Nero 7? -
No problems with 6.

Nero lists "what's new" on their website. Nothing revolutionary - more of a media center approach to the handling of data. Bit unstable and slower overall. I didn't like it. Makes a simple task unnecessary complicated (new shell). Otherwise it uses the same apps and menus when u get to the building blocks of it. I see no use for it at the moment.
